This offseason has been nothing but thrilling for the quarterback play. Players who were once in the Super Bowl with their respected teams have now been traded to another organization. Yet other quarterbacks find themselves in a loop of going from one team to another in hopes of staying there and continuing their careers. Overall, it is exciting to see these quarterbacks play for another team, the only question is who will succeed with their new team. Who will seize the opportunity like Mathew Stafford or Tom Brady and lead their team to the a Super Bowl? That is the underlining factor, and here are some quarterbacks who will succeed with their new team.

Matt Ryan: Indianapolis Colts

Matt Ryan was just traded to the Indianapolis Colts yesterday afternoon in exchange for a third round pick in the 2023 draft. Ryan is a great fit for Indianapolis with his placement of the deep ball which has been a missing factor in the Colts’ offense. In addition, Ryan doesn’t have to worry about getting sacked and he has a top 3 running back in Johnathan Taylor. He doesn’t have to be the difference maker, he doesn’t have to go over beyond what he needs to do. He has help, and this is the best situation for him.

The consensus that Ryan is watered down is asinine as he threw 20 touchdowns last year with a lack of protection and he didn’t have a top running back. Matt Ryan, despite throwing 12 interceptions last year is capable to getting the Colts to the playoffs next year, and possibly winning the division.

Russell Wilson: Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson despite having somewhat of a down year last year, is still debatable for being a top 5 quarterback in this league. He and Matt Ryan both shared the same problems in lack of QB protection, however, Wilson’s was masked by the sheer talent of receivers he had. Despite that, the Seahawks underperformed on many levels losing close games by late game mistakes. Not to mention the lack of defense by Seattle, who was unable to get the ball back to Wilson and the offense. Now that Wilson is out of Seattle and in Denver, I believe things will be different. The Broncos now have a quarterback worth building around to get them to the Super Bowl once again.

Wilson will not only have a capable defense who will attack and get him the ball, but he also has a plethora of weapons on offense. Many people may have written off Melvin Gordon, but he could be a valuable asset to Denver, especially with Wilson at quarterback. In addition, Wilson will have young talented receivers to throw the ball to as well. His ability to extend plays outside of the pocket will be a great benefit to Denver as they have some of the best route runners in Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Tim Patrick. The amount of offense Denver has is endless as they hope to take down the defending divisional champions Kansas City.

Next Season Quarterback Play

The quarterback play will be interesting to see next season. As hype build for some teams, others can just sit and hope for pieces to help rebuild an organization. Atlanta being one of the organizations who just acquired Marcus Mariota from Las Vegas; or even the Browns who just traded for Deshaun Watson. Just as there are quarterbacks who look good and are destined to have a good season, there are also ones who are on rebuilding teams. However, anything can happen in the NFL, but what we will know is where teams will stand with their quarterbacks next year.
