The San Francisco 49ers star wideout has publicly asked for a trade thus creating more speculation as to what happened that made him want out. This news shocked the NFL world as the 49ers most electric player is apparently unhappy with the team. With rumors of San Fran looking to move forward with their number one draft pick Trey Lance and trade Jimmy Garoppolo, it has come as a shock that Samuel is unhappy with the organization. What happened two make the star receiver open to seeking trades?

After losing to the 49ers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game, Samuel was asked about staying with the Niners long term on a new contract. “That is not my call,” Samuel said then. “That’s out of my hands.” Kyle Shanahan was asked about his young stars in Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel, and he expressed his position in the matter. Shanahan has said on many occasions that he wants both Samuel and Bosa to stay long term. “”Those are guys who have earned a lot, two guys that I’m hoping that they are Niners forever, or at least as long as I’m here.”
On the contrary, there are teams in need of a wide receiver let alone a superstar wide receiver. With his route running, speed, and toughness, any team would be a great fit for Samuel. He’s an all around athlete who can find his way to the ball either in rushing it or catching it. He’d be a great fit for the Kansas City Chiefs as they have just lost their superstar receiver in Tyreek Hill. Green Bay is another candidate as Aaron Rodgers would be grateful to have Deebo Samuel via a trade. Another under the radar team would be the Indianapolis Colts as the air attack has been the weakness of their offense, and with Samuel, along with Matt Ryan and Johnathan Taylor, could make noise in the AFC. Needless to say, Samuel was adamant about the situation and had much to say in little details.

It’s evident that some of the 49ers fans are angry and irritated at the fact that their superstar has requested for a trade, but some even went to the extreme by sending him messages. We’ve seen this before with kickers missing game winning field goals and looking at tweets and messages from fickle fans who wish harmful events on them; so this is nothing new. Nevertheless, Samuel responded to the “fans” with a video. He states that the same fans who are at his case about wanting to better his situation were the same ones cheering his name during games and in the playoffs.
Just this season alone, Samuel racked up over 1500 receiving yards with 7 receiving touchdowns, and 502 rushing yards with 9 rushing touchdowns. He is obviously worth the money, but the 49ers haven’t made any moves towards keeping him so it forced Samuel’s hand.
