Despite recents trades and signings by teams making moves towards quarterbacks and other positions, there are still a number of players that remain on free agency. Some of them are wide receivers who could help a team become a complete offense. Even with the signing of Devante Adams, there are still notable receivers available in free agency. Here are some NFL teams that can benefit from signing free agent wide receivers.

Indianapolis Colts – Odell Beckham Jr.

With the signing of Matt Ryan, Indianapolis seems to be moving forward from the Carson Wentz experiment. As the Colts seem to have gotten better with getting a more accurate and poised quarterback, they are still lacking in the receivers area. T.Y. Hilton has addressed his desire to stay and retire in Indy, and the Philadelphia Eagles just traded for Zach Pascal. The Colts need a vertical threat besides Michael Pittman who led the team in reception yards and touchdowns last season. The perfect player to sign would be Odell Beckham Jr. who is a vertical threat receiver.

Odell Beckham is a veteran receiver who can take the top off of defenses. He draws major attention everywhere on the field he is a perfect fit for Matt Ryan. He’s an exceptional route runner which is one of his most underrated skillsets. With Matt Ryan having receivers such as Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Roddy White, this should be a great matchup between QB and Receiver. In just eight games with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham Jr. scored 5 touchdowns, the most he’s scored since 2018. This would be a great signing for Indy as it will take pressure off of Johnathan Taylor and Matt Ryan.

Dallas Cowboys – Julio Jones

The Dallas Cowboys have one of the most underrated offenses in the league. They have a solid running back in Ezekiel Elliot, a promising quarterback in Dak Prescott, and a young receiver in CeeDee Lamb. They still have one of the best offensive lines in the league. Despite that, the Cowboys still haven’t reached their full potential. Last season they were favorites in reaching the NFC Championship, yet they couldn’t pass the Wild Card round in the Playoffs. In addition, the Cowboys let Amari Cooper walk, thus signing with the Cleveland Browns. The best situation for Dallas is to sign Julio Jones.

Julio is far out of his prime but he is still an asset to any team he is on. He can still perform and draw double teams to him which will allow Lamb to dwell and develop into the number one receiver on the team. Julio despite battling injuries is still capable of making ridiculous catches anywhere on the field which will help out Dak Prescott. This is a no brainer for Dallas, and hopefully they can make this move sooner than later.

Buffalo Bills – Will Fuller

With Cole Beasley seeking a trade, the Buffalo Bills need another slot receiver that can go and take the top off of defenses. One of the most explosive players in the league is Will Fuller, a young wide receiver who hasn’t been able to stay healthy during the past couple of years. However, when he is on the field, he can do damage to defenders making them miss or just running past them. Josh Allen is already one of the best quarterbacks in the league with one of the strongest arms so it would make perfect sense to sign a speedster such as Fuller.

Fuller can complement Stefon Diggs’ route running and grit while simultaneously getting his touches in his own way. This also allows the Bills to open up the playbook a little bit more with Jet Sweep plays and screen plays for Fuller just to get him out in the open and make plays. Despite signing Jamison Crowder just a few days ago, Will Fuller would be a great addition to the Bills.

Other NFL Teams

As there are many free agent wide receivers available, such is the same for teams who need wide receivers. Green Bay just made Aaron Rodgers the highest paid quarterback in the league, yet he doesn’t have a number one receiver on his team. Tom Brady spent years taking pay cuts just to have his wide receivers that he’s had success with for years. Aaron Rodgers can benefit from having Odell, or Julio, but will the Green Bay Packers make that move for them is the question. Will they have enough money to sign for them? Or will they rely on the draft to get young players despite having the four time MVP Quarterback returning for 4 years.
