The NFL is capable of producing strange games, outcomes, and anomalies during any given week. Last week was a perfect example of that. Not only did my sneaky starts all fail, but fantasy managers all over the league were frustrated with the lack of touchdowns from important names.

All kidding aside, my suggestions last week were more or less all misses. I won’t try to argue that seven or nine points are what you’re gunning for at each position, so I’ll take my lumps. What’s even funnier is, if you’ve been reading these articles, is that the OJ Howard and Cameron Brate flip flop struck hard this week when Howard found the endzone against the Eagles this Thursday night. You can’t tell me I’m not on the right path…

So, here are my three weekly sneaky starts for you. I understand that there are many byes this week, so I tried to include players that may still be on the waiver wire in your league.

Khalil Herbert

This is an easy one. If he’s available in your league, scoop him up and scoop him up now. This may be the only week you can play Herbert. Both David Montgomery and Damien Williams are slated to miss this Sunday’s matchup against the Packers.

The Bears, who will be starting rookie QB Justin Fields, will certainly be looking to establish and lean on the run game in this one. Look for Herbert to be on the field A LOT this week. He should see the overwhelming majority of snaps and touches from the RB position for the Bears this week.

Mecole Hardman

The Kansas City Chiefs are about to have a get-right game that will see many producers for fantasy. It is a matchup of one of the best offenses in the league versus one of, if not the worst, defenses in the league.

Hardman saw a career-high 12 targets a week ago. Tyreek Hill has also remained limited in practice and is still on the injury report ahead of this week’s matchup. Even if Hill is a “full-go,” Hardman should still see plenty of volume in a matchup that projects to be high scoring for the men in red.

Ricky Seals-Jones

This may be the most significant stretch of the week, but he’s surely on your waiver wire and is not a bad start given the matchup. The injury to TE Logan Thomas has opened up opportunities for Ricky Seals-Jones, and he has more than held his own in the wake of Thomas’ absence

Last week, Seals-Jones saw nine targets and turned it into five receptions for 41 yards. That performance was good enough for the 10th amongst TEs last week. He also received endzone targets before Thomas’ injury, so the upside is there. Don’t be surprised if Jones is a top 10 TE again this week and among the top waiver wire adds next week.

Is this week bound to be better than last week, right? One can hope. At least this week, there is guaranteed volume for two out of three suggestions this week.
